For most music games there is downloadable content that is released very soon after the game has been released. Following in this pattern, Activision wasted no time to get out DJ Hero’s first mix pack. However, the pack has been priced at $6 and it doesn’t let you download individual mixes with Xbox Live or PlayStation Network but you can on Wii.

The DJ Hero “Extended Mix Pack 01″ includes:

“All Of Me” by 50 Cent featuring Mary J. Blige vs. “Radio Ga Ga” by Queen

“DARE” by Gorillaz vs. “Can’t Truss It” Performed by Public Enemy

Even if the mixes were separated into two individual songs, the downloadable content would still equal the price of $3 per mix. In comparison, for Guitar Hero 5, the individual song tracks are at the lower price of $2 each. When Activision was asked about this price, they would not confirm or deny if this was going to be the standard price for the future content.

“I cannot comment about future DJ Hero downloadable,” said Aaron Grant, the Guitar Heropublic relations manager, in an e-mailed statement this morning, “but for the DJ Hero downloadable content that has been announced, individual mixes will cost $3.”

Coming out on the date of November 24th, there will be a ”David Guetta Mix Pack,” which will include three mixes.

It looks to me like the individual song prices are not yet for sure. If you think that the $3 price is outrageous, make sure that you get your opinion heard.

Apparently, an anonymous source has reported that Activision is working with Euro development companies on new DJ Hero content. It was mentioned that they are working on both a sequel and downloadable content for this music game. Supposedly, musicians DMC Champion and judge DJ Qbert were both approached and asked about being included in this new DJ Hero content.

To me, it seems a little weird that Activision is deciding to start on the DJ Hero sequel when they do not even know how the first game is going to do. It seems to me like you would want to be at least a little concerned about if people are really interested in this game. Activision is a big fan of sequels, but they are an even bigger fan of money. To know that they are already working on developing some DLC for this game is a good thing because gamers could get persuaded to buying DJ Hero after hearing that more songs and such will be on the way. Also, it is good to know that there will be a sequel because people are expected to buy an expensive controller for it. They are going to want at least more then one game to use it on.

Activision is coming out with DJ Hero which is going to have its own unique controller. This music game is coming out for the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This unique music game’s controller is going be able to mimic the same experience of a real DJ. You must master the dual turntables and the fader of the disc jockey. However, this one of a kind controller will not work for any other game which makes people hesitant about buying such an expensive item.

Jamie Jackson, the creative director of DJ Hero, was asked by the website “Destructoid” whether or not the DJ Hero controller would work with any other game. Jamie Jackson responded with a quite obvious answer by saying, “DJ Hero is DJ Hero. If someone needed to use our controller, then they would basically have to rip our game off.”

After all, the only other DJ game that I can think of is Scratch: The Ultimate DJ. Both the controller and the gameplay are completely different from each other so it makes sense that as of right now, it looks like the DJ Hero controller will not be used for any other games.

The people who created Guitar Hero were searching for something new and exciting. They wanted to create something different then the same old Guitar Hero and Rock Band games that we know and love. They came up with a game that gives every one a new and different way to experience music. The new game they have created is DJ Hero. This game includes music from a vast amount of different genres, years and artist. You will be able to express yourself with this variety of tracks. There is over one hundred tracks to jam to.

The controller which is used is called a “turntable controller”. You can spin and scratch just like a real DJ would. This innovative controller includes music tools similar to what an actual DJ would use today to create sick mixes such as a fully-rotating turntable, samples button, effects dial, and cross fader. You can add your own bold character to the songs to make them your own. You will become the life of the party. You can sample with different sounds, scratch to the beat and blend different songs in order to express yourself. Another great feature in this game is multiplayer mode. Two different DJs can battle competively against each other, or have one player add some emcee with a microphone. This game also includes DJ-guitar mode. There are exclusive songs that can be created by you with a Guitar Hero controller or with the turntable controller.

This game will give allow you to add your own taste to the songs that you love.

Top pre-sale sites such as Amazon and GameStop have already got DJ Hero listed in their inventory. You are able to pre-order the game for $120. That’s the price of two normal games new! DJ Hero comes out October 27th, a mere two weeks before the newest Call of Duty game is set to launch with possible games like Diablo 3 rumored to be releasing aroudn then too. Will the gamers be willing to spend $120 to purchase another music game?

The music is geared more toward teens. We will be able to play music that we would normally listen to and in a new way, turn table style. There probably won’t be a $60 game only version until DJ Hero 2, but then again, who would want to play the game on a controller? What are your impressions on the game? Are you planning this into your fall gaming budget or waiting for a used version to come around?
