Here is a list that is of the ten games which have had the top ten highest game budgets to ever been spent:
1. Grand Theft Auto IV – $100 million
2. Gran Turismo 5 – $80 million
3. Shenmue – $70 million
4. Too Human – $60+ million
5. Metal Gear Solid 4 – $60 million
6. Halo 3 – $55 million
7. APB - $50 million
8. L.A. Noire – $50 million
9. Final Fantasy XII – $48 million
10. Killzone 2 – $45 million
Each of these ten games were made for the different consoles such as the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC. As you can easily see, a lot of companies will go to great lengths to be able to produce a great game in hopes of gaining their money back in sales. Of course, when having such a high budget, companies have to be sure that the game will appeal to gamers so that they can earn their money back. Grand Theft Auto IV spent 100 million dollars and this helps prove the high amounts it costs to make such a great games. As the gaming world continues to grow, more money needs to be spent in producing. However, is this showing that more money will make for better games or sometimes is it the more simple games that people enjoy? What do you think about such high budgets for creating games?

Here is a part of the description that has been given to the game, Metriod Other M, which is a game that will be releasing soon for the Nintendo Wii:
“While much of the game is reminiscent of 2-D side scrollers, players can switch the perspective into 3-D at any time as they explore the twisting passages of a derelict space station and delve deep into a cinematic, never before told story of bounty hunter Samus Aran’s past. This new approach uses a new control scheme in which players use the Wii Remote controller held sideways to battle enemies and navigate the expansive, gorgeous environments in classic Metroid fashion, then aim at the screen with the Wii Remote pointer to blast foes in first-person and hunt the world for clues and hidden passages.”
Apparently, they have come up with a way to have this game be both a 2-D and a 3-D Metroid game which is very confusing to think about. What sort of idea can you get from this description of the game? Is this game some thing that you have thought is interesting to you?
