But that did not stop me from attending Konami’s Peace Walker themed “Boot Camp” a few weeks back in San Francisco. Boy, was I in for a surprise.”

If Nintendo won’t do it, Japanese developer Silicon Studios must have thought to themselves: ‘Okay, then. We will.’ The end product of high-definition nostalgia is one filled of mixed results, and it’s had me circling back to the biggest question I’ve asked about 3D Dot Game Heroes: so, is it any good? That’s a loaded question that requires a complicated answer. It’s a yes…and a no.”

“Why don’t we charge for [PlayStation Network]?” said Peter Dille, who is Sony’s Vice President of marketing. “It’s been our philosophy not to charge for it from launch up until now, but Kaz [Hirai, head of Sony games] recently went on the record as saying that’s something we’re looking at. I can confirm that as well. That’s something that we’re actively thinking about. What’s the best way to approach that if we were to do that? You know, no announcements at this point in time, but it’s something we’re thinking about.”

Fortunately, at the present time, there are not any signs that Sony plans to remove its biggest marketing advantage that it has over Xbox Live which is being able to play the online multiplayer for no money.

What specific features would you be willing to pay for in a premium service?

Most of you are probably wondering as to what kind of games are going to be coming out. It was revealed that there will be sport games and pet raising games to come out in Japan.

At the current moment, Sony is not telling any information to the public at all. They most likely have a plan for reporting the game titles that will release with the motion controller to the United States. However, it will probably be a while before Sony announces it though.

One of the only pieces of information that is known to the public about the motion controller is that it is going to be releasing by the end of 2010. Which kind of games do you want to see release for the motion controller? Do you think you will go out and get the motion controller when it releases?

Sony president Kazuo Hirai explained in a statement:

“We will continue to work to have a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller, not only from SCE Worldwide Studios but also from the third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with.  We look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expands and defines the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home.”

Sony also added their plans to “vigorously promote the Motion Controller as the de facto controller of the PS3 platform along with the DUALSHOCK series controller.”

Microsoft’s Project Natal also has a head start over Sony on one thing. The name that will be given to Sony’s controller is still a mystery while Microsoft has been decided for quite a while. Be sure to keep watching for new information regarding these two motion controllers!

The PlayStation 3 had a very good year. There was a pretty good stream of high quality releases for the whole year. Something that helped the PlayStation 3 have such a successful year was the price drop that it took. The price drop helped the PlayStation 3 be sold more which eventually lead to higher sales of the games. Also, there were many third party publishers that came out with some decent games too. According to reports made by Sony, there is supposedly one household that owns a PlayStation 2 for every three households in the US. In the world, there is nearly 140 million people who own the system. The PlayStation 2 definitely earned it’s way onto the list of the most successful game consoles ever made. There are still games being created for this console. In case you missed your chance in the last decade, you can pick up the PS2 Slim for only $99. The PS2 games are available for very low prices at game retailers around the world. Pick up one of your favorite games choosing from over 10,000 options.

A lot of people probably have their PS2 out of use at the moment and haven’t touched it since they got their most recent PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii. Do you still play your PlayStation 2 or when was the last time you played it? Do you even remember where you are storing it?
