Halo 3: ODST was a pretty good success for Bungie, but there has not yet been any reports that the developer is going to be putting out more of these adventures for ODST. Basically, what this means is that he does not really have any motivation to putting out any new downloadable content for the game. The game was only a one time thing and is not meant as anything else at the time. However, we have not yet seen the last of those characters that were introduced by Bungie in Halo 3: ODST. In an interview with Bungie after the game had been released, the writer and the creative director, who is Joseph Statten, said a little something about Buck who is voiced by the actor Nathon Fillion.

“I can’t comment on any future plans for our ODSTs,” said Joseph Statten. “But it would be a shame if we made a game about the planet Reach — a place where Buck, the ODST’s squad leader, was known to be — and not have him appear in some way shape or form…”

So it is pretty much guaranteed that Nathon Fillion will be playing a role as Buck in Halo: Reach. It is just not said how big this role will be.

In the four years that the Xbox has existed, there have been hundreds and hundreds of different exciting games to be released. Everything starting from the first person shooter games to the strategy games all the way to the role playing games, there have been a lot of successful games. Gamers have stayed mostly satisfied with the games that have come out. Recently, there was a list made of the top twenty five games that have come out for the Xbox. The top twenty five games that were picked are as follows:

25. Dead Space
24. Lost Odyssey
23. Dead Rising
22. Shadow Complex
21. NHL ‘10
20. Modern Warfare 2
19. Virtua Fighter 5 Online
18. Left 4 Dead
17. FIFA ‘10
16. Forza 3
15. Rock Band 2
14. Geometry Wars
13. Borderlands
12. Halo Wars
11. Halo 3: ODST
10. Gears of War
9. Braid
8. BioShock
7. The Orange Box
6. Halo 3
5. Grand Theft Auto IV
4. Oblivion
3. Fallout 3
2. Modern Warfare
1. Mass Effect

All of you probably have different views on what games should be on the top twenty five list. Maybe there are games on this list that you haven’t played yet. Well if there is, then you should look into playing them since you will probably like them considering it is from the top Xbox games list. If the decision was yours, would you change anything about the order of the list or would you add any new songs? Or do you totally agree with this list?

Activision is coming out with DJ Hero which is going to have its own unique controller. This music game is coming out for the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This unique music game’s controller is going be able to mimic the same experience of a real DJ. You must master the dual turntables and the fader of the disc jockey. However, this one of a kind controller will not work for any other game which makes people hesitant about buying such an expensive item.

Jamie Jackson, the creative director of DJ Hero, was asked by the website “Destructoid” whether or not the DJ Hero controller would work with any other game. Jamie Jackson responded with a quite obvious answer by saying, “DJ Hero is DJ Hero. If someone needed to use our controller, then they would basically have to rip our game off.”

After all, the only other DJ game that I can think of is Scratch: The Ultimate DJ. Both the controller and the gameplay are completely different from each other so it makes sense that as of right now, it looks like the DJ Hero controller will not be used for any other games.

2: Grunt Birthday Party: When you get a headshot on an enemy grunt, they will explode into confetti, and you’ll hear children cheer, “yay!” in excitement.

3: Cowbell: Explosions become much bigger in the game.

4: IWHBYD (I would have been your daddy): Unlocks hidden dialogue throughout Halo 3’s campaign.

Mythic Skulls:

1: Assembly: no effect

2: Sandbox: no effect

3: Orbital: no effect

Skull Locations:

When obtaining the skulls you have to start the level from the beginning, you can’t load checkpoints or the skull will not appear.

Gold skulls:

Iron: You can find the iron skull at the end of the very first level Sierra 117. It is behind the building Sgt. Johnson is held by the Brutes, up on the roof. You can get onto the roof at the far right side of the building. Travel to the left side of the roof to find the iron skull.

Black eye: The Black eye skull can be located at the very beginning of the second level. Their are pipes hanging from the roof, on these pipes is the black eye skull. Its on the pipe nearest to the large screen. You can gain access to the pipes a few different ways.

Tough luck: The tough luck skull is on the third level when the huge covenant cruiser flies above you. To your right is some large piping following the road you are walking on. Under this piping are support beams that go over a cliff. Jump over to the first of these beams and go to the end of it. Look to the left and the tough luck skull will be sitting on top of a rock, jump over to it and you’ve got the tough luck skull.

Catch: The catch skull can be found on the fourth level, in the first area where you have to destroy the Wraiths, when you enter the area do not eiliminate the wraiths, because the skull disappears when they’re destroyed. The skull is located on top of the circular building next to the anti air wraith, you can access the skull by grenade jumping or jumping on the back of a warthog.

Fog: The fog skull can be found on the 5th level, near the beginning of the level, as you are walking down from the anti-air gun you destroyed you encounter a ramp. You will hit a checkpoint and hear a marine yell out “there! over there!”

You only have a short period in which to obtain the skull, look up towards the right of the alley, there will be a flood jumping across the alley, you have to kill him before he jumps, because he is holding the fog skull. If you kill him too early the skull will get stuck on the roof, you have to time it just right, wait til hes directly over the alley, if you succeeded the skull will drop to the ground and you can retrieve it, if you failed don’t worry because you can just reload the checkpoint and try again. Don’t get discouraged if it takes you a few tries because its not easy to time it right, but you’ll get it eventually.

Famine Tactic 1: The famine skull can be found on the sixth level, where the path breaks into two paths, the one leading to the area where the tanks cross the bridge, and the path where you meet up with your frigate. Take the path that leads to the frigate and you’ll see a structure to your left, there will be a few ghosts near the structure.

You start by scaling the rocks to the right of the structure, and travel across it so that you pass 3 of the large support beams extending into the cliffs. Inside the fourth support beam contains the Famine skull, grenade jump to it and your done!

Famine Tactic 2: You need to hijack a brute chopper to do this tactic, when you have head back to the structure and drive it up onto the rocks next to the structure, to the right. and jump the ledge with the chopper. Position the chopper next to the fourth column and jump on the chopper and then onto the column.

Thunderstorm: The thunderstorm skull is located on the 7th level, right at the part where you get control of one of the hornets. Fly to the second force field generator, the one the Arbiter disabled and land. The skull can be found at the top of the ramp, not the entrance.

Tilt: The tilt skull is on the 8th level in the circular room where cortana starts talking to you about that she “likes to play games too…”.

Getting to the skull is somewhat hard, it requires very well timed jumps. When you enter the room head left where you see some mushrooms along the wall. Jump onto the top of these and then look up and to the right for another mushroom to jump to. Now just jump to the top of the ceiling of the room, where the tilt skull is located.

Mythic: This is the easiest skull to get, because it is located in the very beginning of the last level. Begin by heading into the canyon, but hang by the right wall. You will notice that there is a turn to the right that is off the normal trail. Head down this path, and the final golden skull will be sitting there.

Silver Skulls:

Silver skulls do not have achievements, so don’t worry if you don’t see an achievement pop up.

Blind: The blind skull is located on the first level Sierra 117, Once you kill the golden armored brutes two enemy ships will appear a little bit down the stream go towards the farthest away ship towards the cliff edge. Go to the very right and then you will see a rock jutting out over the large lake, the blind skull is found here.
Grunt Birthday Party: This is my personal favorite skull, it can be found on the second mission, right before you meet up with the the Arbiter, the piping area where drones are buzzing past you. Right before you jump down the pipe to meet up with the Arbiter, stop at the edge and look below you. There is a small ledge, jump down onto this edge and go inside the secret room, the skull is found in middle of the room.

Cowbell: The cowbell skull is found on the level The Ark, its pretty far into the level and it takes a little time to find it.

Start off by headng to the point of the level where you battle the scarab, in the middle of this dessert area your fighting it in is a somewhat large structure, grab one of the grav lifts in the structure and take down the scarab. Now head into the building that you meet up with the arbiter and go into the room with explosive crates, right after this room is a staircase/hallway that leads to a level below. The skull is located at the top of the room, position the grav lift to where you can reach the top platform where the skull is located.

IWHBYD: The skull is located on the level The Covenant. After defeating the scarabs and teaming up with the flood, fight your way to the profit of truth and kill him, then the flood will turn on you and once you have killed all of the flood head back to the entrance where you came into the building. You must jump through the rings in a specific order. The order of the rings is 1 being the entrance and 7 being the ring closest to the prophet of truth.

The order of the rings to jump through is 4 6 5 4 5 3 4

Note if you did it right the rings will start to glow and blink, the skull will appear near the prophet of truth.

Mythic Skulls:

The mythic skulls can be found on the 3 new maps that can be purchased at the Xbox live marketplace.

Assembly: To find the assembly skull, go into forge mode and load up the assembly map, the skull can be found on one of the two huge arms extending out from the center piece of the map, and you’ll find the skull.

Sandbox: You can simply download this map, in which you simply spawn next to the skull. Or you can create a path towards the skull, which is located to the right of the sunset.

Map: http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=68956613

Orbital: To get the skull simply open up forge and load the map, the skull is located down the blue corridor, towards the red door and into the next room. Face the red door you just entered and switch into monitor mode. Fly towards the top of the room facing this direction, the skull will be in the right corner of a small ledge, simply look around a bit.

I hope this helps you in finding those pesky skulls, and look out for my next guide!

Bungie announced today that there is more information regarding their new release in the halo series Halo:ODST. For those of you who do not know this new game will supplement the halo trilogy taking the entirely different viewpoint of a halo Orbital Shock Trooper rather then Master Chief whom which most fans are used to playing as. A couple of months ago the teaser trailer was released to the public but after that their was not much word abou the game or the content. Now Bungie has so kindly released new gameplay video which will hopefully give us more information on how this game will be different from the other halo series. From the looks of it it seems to be very different from the other halo games yet still has that halo feel to it. Amazon and GameStop have already begun taking pre orders for the game at ridiculous price of $59.99 Bungie stated previously that this would NOT be a full fleged game selling at a a retail price of $60 lets just hope they bring the price down because although i will still pay the $60 bucks to get the game it is most definatly not worth it seeing as it is only a new campagin not new multiplayer. Amazon offers a price guarentee so that if the price were to go down they will pay the difference I myself am still going to hold off till the final price is set. Anyway hope you guys are looking as foreward to the game as I am can’t wait to get my hands on it! Check out the trailer.

A few days ago the Halo Wars demo was released for free on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Since its release it has become the most downloaded demo on Xbox Live to date. Within five days it had been downloaded a total of 2,000,000 times. This single day download record was no doubt in part to it’s obvious relations with the high profile Halo franchise.

This game looks like it will be successfully linking the successful first person shooter Halo with a real time strategy game. They are a completely different genres which makes me wonder how many of those 2,000,000 downloaders got what they intended?

What did you guys think of the demo? I’ve heard the interface is one of the better console interfaces for a strategy game; however it still isn’t as good as those of computer strategy games. Are you going to purchase this game for $60? Let me know what you thought of the demo and the game play.

The trailer is on youtube now and has some great scenes.

The new game will be produced for multi-platforms, the game will be available on the PC, ps3 and xbox360. The story of the game is an outbreak in Colorado that was not contained and spread. The main character is also different. Looking at some of the pictures, it appears that the game will be set in Las Vegas.

There is no catch to the Halo Wars demo, I’m starting to dislike this idea. Remember when the Halo 3 demo came out and you had to buy Crackdown to play it? Not only did it boost sales for a rather mediocre game, but it limited the demo to series players and those lucky enough to have a copy of the game.

The Halo Wars demo just came out and it reminds me a lot of the Bioshock demo release. The download is going to take hours. I started the download so that I could possibly get to the game tonight and be able to review it for you guys, but things didn’t work out that way. I sat there for 10 minutes and it was still at. 1%.

I gave up on the download and decided it will still be there late this weekend when I finally have the time to wait for a download and when the servers won’t be so busy and the download will be managable in length. For those of you that have gotten the game, what do you think about it so far? Has it convinced you to go preorder the game, or simply buy it at launch? It’s going to take a great demo for me to buy it new, I might just borrow it from a friend.

This weekend has been announced as a double experience weekend for online users of Call of Duty: World at War. It’s pretty simple for those of you new to the game. On weekends where they announce double experience, every game you play, whether it be headquarters or deathmatch, you will get twice the experience as you usually would receive. This includes everything from each individual kill, to the matchmaking bonus.

Nothing like soaring through the ranks with a nice long weekend of double experience. If there ever was a weekend to play a lot of headquarters, this is that weekend. This is by far the greatest experience game out there.

Gears of War 2 is continuing to drop in player count. It may drop off the top ten completely in the upcoming months. The Call of Duty series is still dominating with two of the top three slots. I guess not everybody has upgraded from Call of Duty 4 yet. If you are looking for a good game to try, you can pretty much choose any of the games in these lists. They are all guaranteed to give you a great time as they are some of the best ones out there.

10 Bomberman Live
The above arcade games list is based on purchase and downloads of the full version of the game, the demo versions do not count towards this total.
