Unlike many people’s thoughts, Borderlands 2 has not officially been confirmed yet. Because of the success that came alone as a nice surprise from Gearbox Software’s first person action Role Playing Game, the question regarding Borderlands 2 has finally been asked. Even though the official success of the first game has not yet been released it seems that by word of mouth, this game has done great.
“Yes, I can probably confirm that there’s a chance of a Borderlands 2,” laughed the excited director, Mike Neumann. “I mean, with anything, especially a new IP, if people want more and you can make more, and everybody can make money and do good business there, it obviously makes really good sense to do that. Obviously nothing so far is planned. We’re working on DLC. We haven’t really had any talks about a sequel, other than water cooler talk like, ‘Wouldn’t this be cool’ kind of stuff. If everything makes sense, Borderlands 2seems like a no-brainer to me,” said Neumann.
Not thinking that it would do well, Borderlands has really exceeded all expectations. Because of this, Gearbox’s design team must begin to think about the next step they are going to take.
