For most music games there is downloadable content that is released very soon after the game has been released. Following in this pattern, Activision wasted no time to get out DJ Hero’s first mix pack. However, the pack has been priced at $6 and it doesn’t let you download individual mixes with Xbox Live or PlayStation Network but you can on Wii.
The DJ Hero “Extended Mix Pack 01″ includes:
- “All Of Me” by 50 Cent featuring Mary J. Blige vs. “Radio Ga Ga” by Queen
- “DARE” by Gorillaz vs. “Can’t Truss It” Performed by Public Enemy
Even if the mixes were separated into two individual songs, the downloadable content would still equal the price of $3 per mix. In comparison, for Guitar Hero 5, the individual song tracks are at the lower price of $2 each. When Activision was asked about this price, they would not confirm or deny if this was going to be the standard price for the future content.
“I cannot comment about future DJ Hero downloadable,” said Aaron Grant, the Guitar Heropublic relations manager, in an e-mailed statement this morning, “but for the DJ Hero downloadable content that has been announced, individual mixes will cost $3.”
Coming out on the date of November 24th, there will be a ”David Guetta Mix Pack,” which will include three mixes.
It looks to me like the individual song prices are not yet for sure. If you think that the $3 price is outrageous, make sure that you get your opinion heard.
