In the past week, there has been a lot of talk about the big possibility that Nintendo is coming out with a Wii console which would support high-definition (HD) resolutions. However, nobody actually knows how soon this new feature for the Wii will be coming out. This feature has often been known as the “Wii HD”. Although there really has not been a statement confirming about the Wii HD, in a recent interview a designer, Shigeru Miyamoto, suggested that the HD Wii release date could be getting closer and closer for Nintendo.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with pretty graphics, and if I’m a consumer that has an HDTV, I’d want to be able to play my games with nice graphics too,” said Shigeru Miyamoto. “And I think as we’ve seen the penetration rates for HDTV increase, we’re going to see video games and Nintendo’s games move along in step with the progression of technology.”
For the gamers who do not use an HDTV to play their games on, this news will probably just pass right over you. However, to those of you who do use an HDTV for your gaming, this news is a really good thing to hear. I mean, after all, if you paid for the expensive HDTV then you might as well get full use out of it.
