Virtua Tennis 2009 is coming out in the near future and a recent announcement by Nintendo has us excited for the launch. The previously announced addition of MotionPlus to the Wii is huge news. The addon itself is coming June 8th for the Wii. The first game with the technology wasn’t thought to be released until July. It was just announced that Virtua Tennis will support this new technology. Virtua Tennis comes out in late May so the game will be out before the technology.
This will be a great way to test the new technology for the Wii. We will be able to see if the tennis racket can give the ball the desired effect such as spin and similar swings. If it fails completely, the worst you’ll end up with is a Wii Sports tennis game where you are just swinging your arm around for a basic tennis game. Be sure to check out the reviews of MotionPlus before spending big money on the game. If it’s a flop, you might want to wait for the next round of games.
