Since February 2007, Nintendo has sold over 10,000,000 copies of the popular game, Wii Play. This is more than Gears of War, Halo 3, GTA IV, Bioshock, and basically every other game ever sold. The only game that has the possibility of being higher would be WoW, and even that is probably a few million short.
The game comes with a Wiimote, so essentially it’s not a true statistic. The game is only $5 or so when bundled with the Wii Remote. Pretty much any gamer out there would add a few bucks to get an almost free game when they need to buy their Wiimote’s. This game out early on in the Wii’s history when virtually nobody had a Wiimote. In fact, I’d consider this game to be free.
Now, with that being said, I’ll continue hating on Nintendo. This game is very simple, and the games included in it are mostly things you can find on the internet anyways. The addition of the motion sensor would make the game a bit more fun, but really the game is weak at best. It wouldn’t hold a hardcore gamers attention for more than a few days.
