There is no catch to the Halo Wars demo, I’m starting to dislike this idea. Remember when the Halo 3 demo came out and you had to buy Crackdown to play it? Not only did it boost sales for a rather mediocre game, but it limited the demo to series players and those lucky enough to have a copy of the game.
The Halo Wars demo just came out and it reminds me a lot of the Bioshock demo release. The download is going to take hours. I started the download so that I could possibly get to the game tonight and be able to review it for you guys, but things didn’t work out that way. I sat there for 10 minutes and it was still at. 1%.
I gave up on the download and decided it will still be there late this weekend when I finally have the time to wait for a download and when the servers won’t be so busy and the download will be managable in length. For those of you that have gotten the game, what do you think about it so far? Has it convinced you to go preorder the game, or simply buy it at launch? It’s going to take a great demo for me to buy it new, I might just borrow it from a friend.
