Report in some new data that was recently revealed, it was noted that the Xbox 360 is the most used console in the United States. This means that, by terms of minutes, there is more time spent on the Xbox 360 than there is on any other console.
To much peoples surprise, the second most used console is the last generation PlayStation 2. Not far behind in third was the Nintendo Wii. Not only did Sony’s PlayStation 3 not make the top three, it was not even put on the list that was released. It was not stated why the PlayStation 3 was omitted from the list. At least Sony can say one good thing about this by proving that their consoles last long considering the PlayStation 2 is still getting used a lot. Sony might not realize that making a console that does absolutely everything does not really get them as many users as they thought since more people are still playing the PlayStation 2.
Along with this news, it was seen that 73 percent of households use a console entirely for the purpose of playing games. Also, there is at least one console or handheld in 54 percent of all households. Out of that 54 percent, various last generation consoles make up 41 percent of it. Also, females have now become more present in the gaming world. They make up 45 percent of all gamers, 49 percent of all Wii owners and 52 percent of all PlayStation Portable owners.
